Coforma is looking for a strong Director, Business Development - Healthcare to join our growing Business Development team. 

The Director, Business Development - Healthcare will report to the VP of Business Development and will be responsible for developing Coforma’s growth strategy within the healthcare portfolio/focus area.  You will build relationships and understanding within and across project teams, partners, and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter who’s passionate about healthcare and has experience with business development lifecycles, proposal management, and building strategic relationships with both senior stakeholders and business partners. As part of our growing business development team, you’ll play a key role in educating our teams and stakeholders, facilitating aligned opportunities, and selling diverse services that positively impact people’s access to government services through research, engineering, design, product, and overall technical strategy. Your expertise in aligning stakeholders, seeing proposals through to successful awards, and operating in a fast-paced environment will launch your success at Coforma.

$148,000—$163,000 Base Salary + Benefits + Growth Potential

Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for executing the overall business strategy and account planning to support Coforma’s strategic business development goals within our healthcare focus area.  Working in partnership with Coforma’s Account Director, Healthcare, you’ll co-develop customer insights and map the healthcare ecosystem of customer needs in the federal, state, commercial, and non-profit sectors.

Business Development & Growth:

    • Planning, coordinating, directing, and executing all business development related activities associated with the relevant Coforma business focus areas to include customer engagements, proposal development, competitive assessments, capture strategy development and execution, budget/pricing creation, conferences, and local events
    • Proactively present new ideas and lead business planning efforts with clients to strengthen and promote long-term relationships.
    • Create and grow mutually profitable client relationships.
    • Develops and regularly updates formal Lead & Opportunity pursuit review in accordance with Coforma Opportunity Decision Making Framework (ODMF), Pipedrive, or other Coforma BD resource systems.
    • Support the full lifecycle of Business and Proposal management until opportunity award
    • Develops sustained, deep relationships with influencers within, and outside, the customer organization and uses those relationships and acquired insight to strengthen Coforma’s position for targeted pursuits within their focus areas.
    • Analyzes opportunities to provide Coforma leadership with various options and the best strategy to secure opportunity wins
    • Works closely with various stakeholders throughout the company including Client/Customer Management Teams, Coforma PMO, finance, Delivery teams, and SME’s.
    • Identifies and secures potential teaming partners (OEM’s, Primes, Subcontractors, etc.) with a clear understanding of their complementary and strategic value to Coforma’s focus areas.
    • Identifies trends in customer purchasing patterns and enacts specific plans to help BD Team capture a greater share of business
    • Maintains a broad understanding and application of Coforma’s capabilities and their importance to our customers

Bid and Proposal Support:

    • Functioning as a member of the Proposal Team, assisting with Blue Team strategy & presentation deck development, proposal kick-off & presentation, proposal review color teams, oral presentations.
    • Participates as a subject matter expert throughout the BD/Proposal process
    • Oversee the assembly and interrogation of briefs and briefing materials to support proposal development and submission to Task Orders, RFIs, and RFPs.
    • Coordinates with appropriate resources to execute necessary legal and financial agreements, such as NDA’s and Teaming Agreements prior to RFP release
    • Identifies key contract opportunities and maintains a 2-year strategic pipeline

Supporting the Project Transition Team with:

    • Assists Coforma’s Program Management Office (PMO) team with contract/project kick-off as required and Client/Customer Management team education as required
    • Assist with customer/stakeholder and project knowledge transfer
    • Assist the PMO Team with project kick-off activities (as needed)
    • Assist contracts / legal team with contract/task order negotiations (as needed)
    • Assist contracts / legal team with contract/task order negotiations (as needed)
    • Assist with the initial stakeholder (COR / Product Owner) meetings

Preferred Experience

    • Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
    • Government contracting experience
    • Demonstrated BD experience in the digital services and experience design, specifically websites, mobile applications, digital experiences, and product development.
    • Demonstrated digital marketing skills with a strong understanding of human-centered design, agile software development, and product development.
    • Proven experience managing large client assignments with multiple senior stakeholders and large delivery teams.
    • Strong commercial skills and business acumen.

Coforma Focus Area - Healthcare

    • US Federal Health Departments such as HHS, CMS, IHS or similar commercial experience within health / hospital networks is required.
    • Experience and/or interest in working within Government / Federal Health / US Digital Service / 18F.
    • Proven track record of successful business development and sales within Federal, Commercial, or non-profit healthcare space.
    • Experience with Federal Healthcare and Medical IT procurement lifecycle, acquisition strategy, and forecasting.
    • Understand how federal, commercial or non-profit organizations procure, manage and source funding/budgets.
    • Understanding of federal, commercial and non-profit procurement process
    • Experience with identifying, qualifying, and pursuing business development opportunities supporting healthcare pursuits.
    • Will partner with Coforma C-Suite to strategize and drive Healthcare related BD initiatives
    • Solid understanding and knowledge of federal contract vehicles and acquisition strategies such as: GSA MAS/FSS, GWAC’s, IDIQ’s, set-aside, sole-source, multiple-award, etc.
    • Knowledge of SBA small business concern, size classifications, NAICS Codes, and beta.SAM.gov
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct market and industry research analyses
    • Proven experience in pursuing and winning new and follow-on federal business, including building and leveraging relationships, developing effective teaming and win strategies.
