Anaconda is seeking a talented Sr. Software Engineer  to  join our rapidly-growing company. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of data science and machine learning. This role will be responsible for working on a range of open source projects that Anaconda maintains and/or contributes to.  The candidate will be on the OSS team that focuses on distributed computing, data formats, data access (especially in the cloud), and data cataloging.  This role will primarily focus on the Intake data catalog project, but will also work on related projects.  Common tasks will include designing and implementing new software features, fixing bugs, providing user support, and interacting with the OSS community.  We highly encourage our OSS developers to present their work publicly through blog posts, conference presentations, and webinars.


What You’ll Do:

  • Be a key member of Anaconda’s Engineering team
  • Attend team ceremonies (standups, reviews, retros, planning)
  • Work with other teams to coordinate joint deliverables
  • Create and maintain software documentation
  • Review PRs, contribute in engineering and product discussions

What You Need:

  • contributions in github to OSS projects
  • experience using the PyData software stack (numpy, pandas, etc)
  • experience with python development tools and practices: testing, CI, package building, creating and publishing documentation

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience working in a open source or data science-oriented company
  • data science user experience (model building, data set finding and introspection)
  • data warehousing
  • contribution to one or more of: intake, fsspec, dask, holoviz
  • work with cloud compute and storage frameworks
  • visualization and/or UX
