The Customer Education team at Grafana Labs was formed at the end of September 2021. We are now expanding and looking for our second curriculum developer, who will report to the Director of Customer Education. Your primary duties will be to create content for our online self-paced offering, Grafana University. You will need to be comfortable researching technical topics, collaborating with subject matter experts, designing course outlines, and writing course materials. This role is fully remote, as are all roles at Grafana Labs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with key stakeholders to define training requirements and learning goals
  • Research highly technical topics across various sources, such as documentation, blog posts, and webinars
  • Design persona-based learning paths
  • Build micro-learning modules including videos and hands-on exercises
  • Translate technical topics into simple words and visuals suitable for a range of audiences and personas
  • Partner with our Engineering teams to ensure the content aligns with our product evolution and roadmap
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to supplement your own research and ensure technical details are correct

What you'll bring along:

  • 3+ years of experience with instructional design and curriculum development for technical software
  • Strong ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Experience with developing self-paced online materials
  • Ability to effectively connect and collaborate with a globally distributed team while working remotely
  • Experience with prioritizing and managing your own projects in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Developed ability to create visual illustrations for technical concepts

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with git, markdown, Google Slides, and/or Camtasia
  • Experience in using or administering the Grafana technology stack
  • Familiarity with metrics, monitoring, and/or observability technology
